"When compared with the biblical pattern of marriage and the family set forth in the opening chapters of Genesis, homosexuality fallse short on numerous fronts. First, as the antithesis of heterosexuality, homosexuality is at odds with God's design for marriage and the family at its most foundational level.... A second component of the biblical model of marriage that homosexuality violates is its complementary nature.... Since these marital roles are tied inherently and unalterably to gender, same-sex partners cannot participate in this aspect of biblical marriage....A third integrated component of God's design for marriage and the family that homosexuality does not fulfill is the duty to procreate.... By nature, however, homosexuality falls short of this essential component of the biblical/traditional model of marriage and the family, since it precludes reproduction."
